The therapeutic approach
These online group sessions combine practical strategies with neuroaffirming psychological support, using an adapted approach of Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT).
While DBT was originally developed for different clinical presentations, many of its skills are incredibly helpful for neurodivergent adults when adapted in a neuroaffirming way.
What is different about group therapy?
Learn alongside others with similar lived experiences
Benefit from shared perspectives
Encouragement and validation from group members
Experiences of not being alone
A sense of community
Skill building
Can I join the group if I already have an individual therapist?
Yes!
Rather than replacing individual therapy, group therapy can often complement it.
A group can provide opportunities to learn new concepts, develop practical skills and connect with others, while individual sessions allow you to explore your own experiences in greater depth and apply what you've learned to your personal circumstances.
Group therapy sessions might not the right fit if:
You're looking for crisis support
You're seeking diagnostic assessment
You prefer purely one on one therapy
You're not comfortable with participating in an online group environment.
